CasaTempo is a private house devoted to mechanical writing and industrial light.

Our collection began with a mid-century typewriter — a 1967 Hermes Media 3 — whose precision and tactility revealed a different relationship between hand, machine, and thought. From there grew a focused interest in European typewriters of the 1950s–1970s, particularly those by Hermes, Olivetti, and Olympia, each distinguished by its engineering, typographic character, and historical context.

In time, this attention extended naturally to lighting. A typewriter of the 1960s belongs beneath a lamp of the same era — objects designed not in isolation, but as part of a complete working environment. The lamps we collect and restore share the same values: clarity of function, restraint of form, and longevity of construction.

Many of the objects in our care were once neglected — stored away, unused, or forgotten. Restoration is not undertaken to erase age, but to preserve integrity. Each piece is cleaned, adjusted, and returned to working life with respect for its original design.

CasaTempo exists to place these objects back into use, where time is measured not by speed, but by attention.
