Scholarship

At CasaTempo, we believe typewriters are far more than decorative relics of the past. They are mechanical partners for your thoughts, built to transform inspiration into something tangible, present, and alive. Above all, they are tools meant to be used, not admired from a distance.

As part of our commitment to writing as a lived practice, we offer a monthly Typewriter Scholarship. Each month, we place one fully functional, cleaned, and tested typewriter into the hands of a writer whose dedication aligns with the spirit of the machine. The typewriter is provided at no cost, with shipping included.

This program is not intended as charity. It is our way of placing well made tools into the hands of people who will use them, ensuring these machines continue doing what they were engineered to do: tell stories.

Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is open to writers, poets, playwrights, essayists, and creative thinkers of all backgrounds. Whether you are drafting a novel, working on a screenplay, or writing personal essays, if a typewriter will serve as a primary or meaningful part of your creative process, we invite you to apply.

How to Apply

To participate, send an email to casatempo25 [at] gmail [dot] com with the following:

1) A short writing sample (any style or genre).

2) A brief note sharing why you wish to write on a typewriter and how you plan to use it in your current project.

There are no rigid guidelines or formal formatting requirements. We simply want to hear about your work and your intent.

Selection & Announcement

One recipient is selected every month. The chosen writer will be notified privately via email, and announced on the first day of the following month.
