This Hermes 3000 in the iconic boxy green body with contrasting white keys dates to around 1968, representing one of the final iterations of this classic all-metal design before the transition to later plastic-bodied models. Made by Paillard S.A., it reflects the brand’s long-standing reputation for precision engineering and exceptional build quality. Widely regarded as one of the finest portable typewriters ever produced, the Hermes 3000 offers a remarkably smooth and responsive typing experience, along with features such as a tabulator system and touch control for added versatility. Its angular, architectural form, paired with the distinctive green-and-white color scheme, gives it a bold yet timeless presence — a true culmination of mid-century design and mechanical craftsmanship.
This machine has a Qwertz (Swiss German) layout, including keys for "ü", "ö", "ä", "é", "ç", "à", and two accent marks — grave (`), and circumflex (^). You can type accented characters such as "è" and "â". Please check the keyboard photos for additional special symbols.
**Custom keyboard layouts are available upon request; please inquire for pricing and lead time.
Hermes Pica features clean, well-balanced letterforms and exceptional readability. Crisp and versatile, it produces clear, professional-looking text that is equally suited to letters, journals, and everyday writing.
This machine is in average cosmetic condition, showing some paint loss around the corners in the front and some scratch marks on the sides and in the rear. Please review the listing photos carefully.
