Made in Switzerland in 1956, this Hermes Baby features a beautiful seafoam green finish — a soft, refreshing tone that highlights the machine’s elegant mid-century design. Compact, lightweight, and finely constructed, it was created for writers on the move. Despite its small size, the Hermes Baby delivers a crisp, responsive typing feel, earning its reputation as a favorite among students, journalists, and travelers alike.
This machine has an AZERTY (French) layout, including keys for "è", "é", "ç", "à", "ù" and two accent marks — diaeresis (¨) and circumflex (^). You can type accented characters such as ü and â. Please check the keyboard photos for additional special symbols.
Hermes Pica features clean, well-balanced letterforms and exceptional readability. Crisp and versatile, it produces clear, professional-looking text that is equally suited to letters, journals, and everyday writing.
This typewriter is in good cosmetic condition, with some small stains and scratches on the body. Please review the photos carefully. All keys, margins, line spacing, and ribbon mechanisms are functional. It also has a clear, bright bell ring at the end of each line. Basic cleaning and adjustments have been performed to ensure a smooth typing experience. The original carrying case shows wear consistent with age and is included with the typewriter. A new ribbon is installed, and additional ribbons can be purchased separately.
