-Olympia Monica typewriter
-Original Carrying Case (not able to lock)
-New bi-color ribbon (used only for testing)
-"How to Use" and "Typewriter Care Notes" — covering ribbon replacement, cleaning tips, and basic maintenance to keep your machine in top condition
This Olympia Monica was made in Western Germany around 1963 — a mid-sized portable typewriter that blends the solid engineering of Olympia’s SM series with a lighter, more approachable design. Produced during one of Olympia’s strongest mechanical eras, it offers a smooth, balanced typing touch with excellent alignment and reliability.
With its streamlined early-60s aesthetic and robust metal construction, the Monica is both elegant and practical: sturdy enough for daily writing, yet compact enough for easy portability. A product of German precision craftsmanship, it embodies the durability, refinement, and mechanical excellence that defined Olympia’s golden age.
This machine features a QWERTY (Spanish) keyboard layout, complete with keys for "ñ", and two accent marks — acute (´) and diaeresis (¨). These allow you to type accented characters such as á and ü. Please check the keyboard photos for additional special symbols.
Olympia Elite features sharp, well-defined letterforms and excellent readability. Clean and dependable, it produces crisp, professional-looking text that is perfect for letters, journals, and everyday writing.
This typewriter is in very good cosmetic condition, with some small surface scratch marks shown in listing photos. Please pay close attention to the listing photos. All keys, margins, line spacing, and ribbon functions operate properly. Basic cleaning and adjustments have been performed to ensure a smooth and responsive typing experience. The original carrying case shows some wear and tear consistent with age. Unfortunately the lock of the carrying case is no longer functional and hence the reduced price. A new ribbon has been installed and additional fresh ribbons can be purchased separately.
