The Adler Tippa, made in Western Germany in 1969, is a compact and reliable portable typewriter from one of Europe’s most respected manufacturers. Known for its precision engineering and minimalist mid-century design, the Tippa combines a lightweight body with the sturdy mechanics typical of German craftsmanship.
This machine features a QWERTY keyboard layout (Spanish), complete with keys for ñ, and two accent marks — acute (´) and grave (`). These allow you to type accented characters such as á, è. Please see the photo of the keyboard for other special characters.
This typewriter is fitted with the RaRo 75 cursive (script) typeface, a distinctive style produced by the German type foundry Ransmayer & Rodrian. Designed to imitate natural handwriting rather than formal print, the letters feature a gentle rightward slant and flowing, connected forms that create a lively, personal rhythm across the page. Compared to standard Roman typefaces, RaRo 75 feels softer and more expressive, making it especially suited for letters, journals, and creative writing.
This typewriter is in good cosmetic conditions with some visible scuff marks on the plastic casing, as shown in the photos. All keys, margins, line spacing and ribbon mechanisms are functional. Basic cleaning and adjustments have been performed to ensure smooth, responsive typing. The original carrying case closes and opens properly. A new ribbon has been installed and additional ones can be purchased separately.
