This Olivetti Dora, made in Spain in the 1970s, represents the simplicity and durability that defined Olivetti’s later portable models. Designed under the artistic direction of Mario Bellini, the Dora embodies Olivetti’s signature Italian design philosophy — functional, elegant, and made to last.
This machine features a QWERTY keyboard layout (Spanish), complete with keys for ñ, ç, and four accent marks — acute (´), grave (`), diaeresis (¨), and circumflex (^). These allow you to type accented characters such as á, è, ü, â. Please refer to the keyboard photos for additional characters available.
This typewriter features a very cute san serif typeface (font) called "Quadrato"— a geometric “techno” style font created by Arturo Rolfo in 1963. Introduced during a new wave of modernist design in the 1960s, Quadrato became one of Olivetti’s most iconic typefaces. Its clean, sans-serif lines embody the sleek, forward-looking spirit of mid-century industrial design — perfectly complementing the precision and modernity of the machine itself.
The typewriter is in very good cosmetic condition, with some minor marks on the body. Please review the photos carefully. All keys, margins, line spacing, and ribbon functions operate properly. Basic cleaning and adjustments have been performed to ensure a smooth and responsive typing experience. A carrying case, showing wear consistent with age, is available as an optional add-on. A new ribbon is already installed, and additional ribbons can be purchased separately.
