This Olivetti Dora, made in Spain in the 1970s, represents the simplicity and durability that defined Olivetti’s later portable models. Designed under the artistic direction of Mario Bellini, the Dora embodies Olivetti’s signature Italian design philosophy — functional, elegant, and made to last.
This machine features a QWERTY keyboard layout (Spanish), complete with keys for ñ, ç, and four accent marks — acute (´), grave (`), diaeresis (¨), and circumflex (^). These allow you to type accented characters such as á, è, ü, â. Please refer to the keyboard photos for additional characters available.
The classic Olivetti Pica is a timeless serif typeface with elegant, highly readable letterforms. It produces crisp, refined text that is perfect for letters, journals, and everyday writing.
The typewriter is in good cosmetic condition, with some minor surface marks on the body. Notably, there is a recent structural repair on the frame underneath the carriage (shown in the 3rd photo from the end), which is reflected in the reduced price. Please review the photos carefully. Mechanically, the typewriter is fully functional—all keys, margins, line spacing, and ribbon controls operate properly. Basic cleaning and adjustments have been performed to ensure a smooth, responsive typing experience. A working ribbon is currently installed, and additional fresh ribbons can be purchased separately.
