The Triumph Tippa 1, made in Western Germany in 1966, is a compact and reliable portable typewriter from one of Europe’s most respected manufacturers. Known for its precision engineering and minimalist mid-century design, the Tippa 1 combines a lightweight body with the sturdy mechanics typical of German craftsmanship.
This machine features a QWERTY (Dutch) keyboard layout, and four accent marks — acute (´), grave (`), diaeresis (¨), and circumflex (^). These allow you to type accented characters such as á, è, ü, and â. Please see the keyboard photo for other special characters.
Features sharp, well-defined letterforms and excellent readability. Clean and dependable, it produces crisp, professional-looking text that is perfect for letters, journals, and everyday writing.
This typewriter is in average cosmetic conditions with some scuff marks and discoloration on the plastic casing, as shown in the photos. All keys, margins, line spacing and ribbon mechanisms are functional. Basic cleaning and adjustments have been performed to ensure smooth, responsive typing. The original carrying case closes and opens properly. A new ribbon has been installed and additional ones can be purchased separately.
