Vintage German Wittner Metronome, 1970s–1980s, Solid Wood Case, Mechanical Wind-Up, Fully Functional

This is a vintage Wittner mechanical metronome produced in Germany during the 1970s–1980s, an era when Wittner’s reputation for precision and reliability made them the go-to standard for musicians worldwide. Following the classic Maëlzel pyramid form, it beautifully combines traditional design with reliable German engineering. The front door features Wittner's iconic silver-and-black diamond emblem depicting a tuning fork logo. The wind-up mechanical movement delivers a steady, consistent tempo without the need for batteries; simply turn the winding key and let the rhythm begin. Finished in a rich natural wood grain, it functions equally well as a dependable studio tool and a timeless decorative object.

This metronome is in good cosmetic condition, showing minor age-appropriate wear and light marks on the wooden casing. Please review the photos carefully for details. The wind-up mechanism and pendulum movement are fully functional. When tested at 208 BPM, a single full winding lasts approximately 20 minutes (equivalent to roughly 69 minutes at 60 BPM, or over 4,100 beats). Basic cleaning has been completed, and a thin protective layer of wax has been applied to nourish and preserve the wood finish.

When compared to modern electronic metronomes, it is not laboratory-precise, but it keeps time very closely and operates as expected for a vintage mechanical instrument. Minor variation is normal and part of the character of traditional wind-up metronomes. Noticeable defects are shown in the listing images. Please note that this is a vintage item, and minor signs of age or use may remain despite careful inspection.
