About this pitcher:
This is a vintage ceramic pitcher produced in Vallauris, France, a region internationally recognized for its post-war ceramic production. During the 1950s–1970s, Vallauris became a center of modern French pottery, known for bold forms and experimental glaze techniques.

The pitcher features a rounded body, pronounced spout, and strong angular handle. The surface is finished in a deep chestnut-brown glaze, dramatically contrasted by a vivid red interior and cascading lava-style glaze effect in cream and earthy tones across the upper body. The high-gloss finish enhances the fluid movement of the glaze.

A sculptural piece that works beautifully as:
• A statement vase
• A mid-century decorative accent
• A collectible example of French lava glaze ceramics

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. No cracks observed. Minor wear to the base consistent with age. The glaze remains vibrant and intact, with natural variation from the firing process. Please review photos carefully for details. Noticeable imperfections, if any, are shown in the listing images.

Disclaimer:
This is a vintage item. Minor signs of age or light surface wear may remain despite careful inspection. Variations in the glaze, including tonal shifts, texture, or small irregularities, are part of the original firing process and design, characteristic of mid-century stoneware. These are not considered defects but part of the piece’s authentic production.
